1. Use the material on the Moodle in the section "Consequences of the Peace Treaties" (sheets 01-05) to fill in the sheet on the immediate consequences of the Paris Peace Treaties (in bullet points).
2. Fill in the key words sheet about the Peace Treaties.


Homework for Tuesday, Oct 15th:
Do the newspaper front page (there are templates in Pages and a Word one on the Moodle). Do it from the British, German, French, Russian, Belgian or American point of view. Remember to include a headline, image (map or cartoon), the newspaper view, an interview etc. Make it as realistic as possible.

Homework for Thursday, Oct 10th:

Using the Fair/Unfair sheet and the notes you made on the presentation on the Assessment complete a table showing the aspects that you think are fair and those that are unfair (do this in bullet points)

Homework for Monday, Oct 7th:
  1. Finish the sheet on How the Treaty was seen at the time and how it was seen with hindsight using Walsh p16-19.
  2. Do the analysis of the cartoons on the slides (in pairs) and annotate the slide and email it to me
  3. Do the worksheet on "The Other Treaties" using the material in the textbook and on the Moodle. Finish for homework.

Homework for Thursday, Sept 12th:
1. Read the sheet entitled: “The Great Suffering”. Make notes on how each of the following countries were affected by the war: France, Belgium, Britain, Italy, Russia, USA, Germany, the Central Powers. Include stats and figures.

2. Write an argued conclusion explaining which country you think suffered most and why. Give evidence to support your view. Think about which countries had fighting on  their soil, which countries suffered damage to their buildings, communication and farmland, which countries suffered the greatest loss of life, in which countries did civilians suffer the most.

2. Revision (League in the 1930s and reasons for its failure, Causes of WW2: Hitler's foreign policy, Appeasement, Nazi-Soviet Pact, Role of Japan and Italy.


Homework for Tuesday, May 21st:

1. Make sure you have finished the six questions on the early life of Hitler.
2. Read the next chapter in the booklet on the Munich Putsch and pages 253-4 of Walsh, then answer questions 1 & 3-6 at the end of the chapter.

1. Use the planning sheet and guidance as well as the presentation on the Assessment of the Peace Treaties that is on the Moodle to do the essay:
How justifiable were the terms of the peace settlement of 1919-20? Explain your answer.
Plan it out using the planning sheet and then spend a maximum of 45 minutes writing it.

Homework for Monday, Oct 10th:
1. Finish the questions on Reparations and Ruin on the Moodle section on the Consequences of Versailles.
2. Now read the sheet on Italy and use the information to fill in the next row on your chart outlining how Italy was affected by the Treaties and how they reacted.

Homeworks 2015-16:

For the summer holidays:

Make sure you are up to date with all your work on the Germany Depth Study.
You should have done the following work:
* The early years of the Nazis up to 1924
* How the Nazis changed tactics from 1924-29
* Read the presentations on the change of tactics, how the Depression weakened Weimar and how the Nazis benefited. Make sure you have downloaded these and/or printed them out and copied out the summary mindmaps.
* Read the sheets on the Nazis and the Depression and do the worksheet.
* Do the essay on the Rise of Hitler following the guidelines on the Moodle


For Tuesday, May 17th:
1. Make brief notes on the Key Question Summary on p237.
2. Then do the following part c) essay:
How far did the Weimar Republic recover under Stresemann? Explain your answer.

For Friday, May 13th:
You should have finished the research on the Weimar Art and Culture project ready for Friday. The poster and presentation should be completed by the first half of Friday's lesson ready for presentation. I have put a revision guide for the exams on the Moodle, but here is a link to it just in case.
